Yes the resistor was removed
multimeter was reading 2.9
A good way to check for a short would be
will check regulator
the pick ups seem fine
will look for leads

Hi,
Val bought the igniter from me in Finland. We have developed the replacement igniter for the -81 five years ago and have supplied 30 pieces of them all around the world. It is very rare that we get one not working on the customers bike since all the units are
tested by the manufacturer when ready and then on my friends -81 bike prior to selling the unit.
My friend has run the original prototype on his bike for five years now ( )without any problems.
Our aim is not to be rich by supplying these units but to try to keep the -81 bikes on the road as long as possible. (My friend Ari has two -81s himself.) So any constructive ideas to why Vals bike is not running properly are welcome.
I have asked Val to return the unit to me so that I can have it checked by our manufacturer, if the fault is in the unit, it is covered by our one year warranty.
Best regs, Lauri

Its not your units at fault. Its what goes b4 to it that has to be sorted. A lot of KZ/Z1300 owners have the problem, and on the forum plenty of help to resolve at some stage. Its a case of suck and see?
Are you still able to supply the unit if need be?
