drive shaft boot was created by Redphotog
The rubber drive shaft boot from the engine to the swing arm is torn on my my bike. Where can I locate a replacement? I've looked at all the online suppliers and on e-bay, just can't find it. Also, it possible to find a 2 parter or a split boot, so I don't have to tear the bike to shreds to put it on? I'm almost done with a top end rebuild and really don't want to take it all apart again if I don't have to.

Thanks for any help or advice.

A few thoughts come to mind.

I am not aware of a two part boot for the drive shaft coupler boot. They are all one piece for Kawasaki's.

a: Call Jim Sether at Taylors Kawasaki (Woodburn OR) and see if he can locate one via Lightspeed. Their number (503) 981-1813. I'm in Eugene and he has done a great job over the years at assisting me in locating NOS parts for my old KZ's.

b: #2 would be to watch for the next teardown on eBay, or maybe a member of our fine forum may have one.

c: Do a national Craigslist search via www.searchtempest.com and look for ZN parts.

It looks like 49006-1020 fits all 1300's in the entire family of bikes.

Best of luck.

Todd.

Try here www.z1300.de/ they are about $110 plus shipping. Bit expensive but when it's the only game in town.

how badly is it torn? If it's a small tear you could try repairing it I imagine.

My driveshaft boot is torn as well. It's further down on my to-do list but I've considered taking it to an auto parts store and asking to see an assortment of cv boots, driveshaft boots, tie rod boots etc.

If I find something with similar size I can cut to fit and use the clamps already on the bike to secure it in. Should last as long as it would on a car. If you wind up doing this before me plz post results :).

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHere is one listed on Ebay. It's the whole swingarm with pivots but for $50.00 bucks, you would be hard pressed to find a new one for any cheaper than this.

Thank you, All!!! I have some ideas of where to start. I was really hoping to avoid tearing the whole back end off to replace it but I guess if it comes down to it, I gotta do what I gotta do. Gives me something to do over the winter.
