Remove Drive shaft from swing arm
4 years 10 months ago
Good day all,
I'm trying too remove the shaft out of the swing arm but ran into problem
maybe someone can help
I removed the circlip and spacer that hold the coupling on the shaft but still cannot remove the coupling.
do i need to use a press to remove the shaft or it should be easy out?

Hi, from memory it should pull off i took mine apart some time ago and certainly never used any special tools possibly worth trying to move it slightly side to side until it frees

2 x Flat Head Screwdrivers.
Position one either side of the outer part of the coupling and the inner part of the arm and carefully "lever" it forward.
Its probably been in there a long time so maybe a bit shy coming out...........
If it wont budge, then it will when you loosen the 2 adjusters out of the bearings which will allow you to pull the arm back against it and "tease" it off !

I did that a few months ago, it should just slide off. Give it a tap or lever it using Pete's method.
You may find rust is inhibiting removal... mine was rusted as well. I took some pics..
