Wheel Track Offset

Hi I'm wondering if Z13 was meant to have a wheel track offset, or is the frame, fork bend? hmm.. and what is the purpose of such thing. I have seen on the internet various information about it, even describing how to calculate this, so I'm wondering. My kawa has a rear wheel offset to the left 5 mm.

Does seem a little odd although a small offset wouldn't hurt anything (I don't think). Are you sure it's not a result of a high spot on the tire on one side and a low spot on the other? You could try making the measurement at a few places around the tire. A more accurate measurement might be to use a rim with no tire on it.

Hi Bucko, yeah it seems a little odd, a lot of people on the internet describe this "offset" as intended for some to me unknown reason. Lots of Triumph riders got this on there bikes, but to be honest I take this as manufacture fault. It would be cool if someone could confirm, that he's bike has or not some kind of offset. When I measure the bike I have turn the wheels 180 degrees against each other to eliminate possibility of error. When I ride at speed of 50 km/h, the bike tend to kind of go to the right when I don't hold the bars, and at high speed at about 150 km/h it starts to weave. I bought the second swing arm so I'm going to try to modify it and get the bike straight. Well that's the plan.

May seem like a silly question...........but has your bike definitely got 1300 forks fitted ?
My 1979 KZ1300 has TWO axle pinch bolts at the bottom of each fork leg, but yours only seems to have ONE ?

I 'm pretty sure the double pinch bolt was only on the A1 forks and then they reduced it to single for all later models

Thanks for your reply.................I had a 1983 / A3 some years ago and that had Twin Bolts........but it was a UK spec model.
