The '81 is in great shape--runs very well. The '80 does too--it uses oil though with no noticeable smoke as of yet. I don't ride the bikes often--although I do take them out several times a year for a good run. They were so well made, that even now, after nearly 40 years, they are strong performers. I really like that aspect of these majestic machines-
As far as riding goes, the 1300's are heavy--but pretty well balanced. For their weight they turn pretty well--although you won't confuse the ride with that of a sport bike. Powerful, with a nice torque feel when you twist the throttle. Braking is ok too. Each has there own personality if you will, but enjoyable in their own way. Oh--and the sound--they do sound great (my opinion)--especially with a header. A bit deeper than a CBX which I like-
I rode big Kawasaki's as a kid--and always enjoyed throwing my leg over the seat. It's funny--but even now (well into adulthood), riding them brings you back to the same place. Similar to hearing a good tune from Led Zep, Stones, Eagles or whatever you were into when you were young-
I'll post a few pic's next week--I had someone earlier in the thread ask that too--so I owe the you both and I'll get on it early next week.

79 KZ1300 A1 RestoRandy's Cycles sourced a beautiful alum 3 row radiator for me resto..

Oh, and CustomSleeve in Lost Angeles, CA can provide all the cylinder liners you need too.

Thank you very much for the information and guidance--I truly appreciate it!

I've been in contact with several shops that do indeed work on these bikes--some within California and several outside the state. I am speaking with each about the work that I wish to have performed. If radiator work or cylinder sleeve work is needed, I will not hesitate to contact Resto Randy's or CustomSleeve.

And btw, your bike looks great--thx for sending the link.

Again, many thanks!
