The 3M stuff will let you re-position (if you do it quickly). If you do want a true "contact" adhesive:

Keep in mind there are several types of "Contact" adhesives. Some will allow re-positioning (low-tack) and the label will denote this. Most are Hi-tack and as suggested, once the pieces touch.....that's 'it !
