Sump Came off with some hits from a dead blow hammer.
The reason my Oil level sensor wasn't working was because of some sediment build up in the little camber the Float lives. My theory is that on the trip home the sludge/sediment moved a bit and stuck to the float holding it down.
On another note it should be possible to unstick the oil level sensor float with the sump on coming through the oil drain hole there are some drain holes for the chamber the float lives in, it should be possible to poke it gently and hopefully unstick it.
Gavin; the deed is done already, I did try to take the pickup off; but the centre stand was in the way of one of the JIS screws. With the bike off centre stand my No.3 was too long, so I decided to let it be. Internals were really clean just the sump was dirty.
