1979 KZ1300 coolanat leak from base gasket - crap.

Definitly the water pump mechanical seal so another confirmation to the "great collective" is correct.

By the GENUINE K SEAL KIT rather than the pattern one, which are not always the best quality.
Always worth paying a little more now and solving the problem for many years than saving a little now and paying twice in the short term !!

While you're in there I'd replace the oil seal behind that water pump seal as well, mine was in pretty poor shape & was starting to weep when I had to do my water pump seal.
