Schematic
4 months 2 weeks ago - 4 months 2 weeks ago
I've managed for the past 45 years to get by with the manual-sized schematic when the need required. My current (no pun intended) project required an extensive and in-depth dissection of a wiring harness inclusive of all new connections from one end to the other and the manual size drawing wasn't working for me.
Kawboy has, in the past, advocated the advantages of having an enlarged wiring schematic and his advice has never been more true. Without these enlargements my brain and likely the harness, would have gone up in smoke.
16X24 and 24X36
The ease in tracing continuity can not be over stated !
Now.....thinking out loud.....what a great companion to this........to have some laminated Blue Prints of the Mikuni Carburetors. Well....at least the scans..........Just saying !

There's something psychological about the larger drawing making the electrical tracing less intimidating. I was reluctant to blow the drawing up to 24 x 36 for fear of losing definition of colors. Now me thinks I'll have to have one printed up that size and see how it looks. Laminating them after printing is the "cream cheese iciing on the cake"

Great idea. I've had an A3 size one laminated for years. Handy for working at the bike. I might have to get a larger one printed now but I have no wall space left

Dear Sirs
Looking at the schematics I can't see the connection between the ignitor and the ecu on my dfi?
The black, green and blue wires controlling the three coils comes from the ecu.
Its looks like the vacuum operated map sensor feeds back to the ignitor.( mitsubishi J4T1707)
Have got six wires to a plug coming out of the ignitor back into the loom and that's where I lose it.
There seem to be a few variations on how these things were wired.
Could someone point me to the correct one please?
Thanks

I had a look at the schematics this morning and I see on the main wiring diagram , just below the "IC Igniter" there is a 3 pin plug labeled "F" (circled) with a black, green, blue wire. Then if you go to the DFI wiring diagram you'll find the mating connector labeled "F" (circled). That's your interconnection point.

Great Thanks Kawboy
So the ignitor is common for the dfi and the carby models?
