Thank you Scotch and Daro . I think I will get one of those adjustable step down voltage regulators available on Ebay . Fortunately they are all very cheap
The fuel level gauge is not so important to me, as I know by other means how much fuel in the tank, but I really like to have the water temperature gauge working.
