Ill probably end up ordering one eventually once I get a few other things for it like new bar switches. If someone doesn't beat me to it then I'll try to take lots of pictures for you guys. Has anyone done away with all the wiring going to the seat latch?

I have never had to eliminate this main switch but there are only two circuits that run through it.
Only the main 30amp and Accessory circuits run though that switch.

Ok thanks, I may end up leaving it but I'd really like to eliminate as many connection points as possible.

Most 1300's retain the side cover main switch. Periodically, it doesn't hurt to remove it and spray some electrical contact cleaner in there to keep the corrosion out.

Or you could just make a small aluminum mounting plate to fit behind your RH side cover (using the CDI units mounting holes) & fit a newer type Blade Fuse Box like I did below.
I kept the original block connector from the old fuse box too so the new wiring fits directly into the existing loom.
This gives a bit more room under the seat & is tidy.

Out of the 4 1300's I have owned over the years, I have never had any electrical problems with this switch. I am sure others have had failures but with the other issues this bike has, the main side-cover switch seems to be fairly trouble free.
Many of us have left it off from time to time (Rather embarrassing.) and forgot to turn it back on. Including yours truly.
