Can't find a good spot for the video camera

Just can't seem to find a good spot for the video camera, and if I have the camera out of it's clear case I get too much wind noise, how do you people take good videos ??, my latest try :-

what kind of camera is it ? e.g. how big ?

Just notice for the GoPro there is a harness to have it fixed in front of your chest.

PS: What about the option to jsut take pics and have the sound added later ?

I tried with a standard Sony HD video camera on a tank mount which straps on with bungie cords (elasticated hook straps). the mount has some adjustment so you can alter the height and angle slightly.

I had two problems - wind noise and vibration. Because my camera records to mini DVD disk it stopped recording because the vibration was too bad

I was wary of the vibration issue from the start that's why I went with the chest mount. For my first trip I mounted the camera too low, at breast bone height, and got more instruments than anything else. Eventually I ended up mounting it just below my throat and took this section, which I've posted before.



I've not tried other locations so I'll be interested in others think of their best mount?

For me the chest mount gives the most realistic perspective. This was shot with a Go Pro II.

Tried it on my helmet, seemed ok in a test at home, trouble is that at speed I seem to lean forward and end up with a shot of the road and not whats ahead, love to get some good engine sound, but again wind noise, suppose at least with the sidecar I have more mounting options, just have to get a good angle, and again with it on there it's a tab bumpy with it empty. I don't have a gopro, too expensive, but got one that does take a good HD video to a memory card, another problem is that if I lift the chair at speed the camera levels the shot so you don't get the image of the chair up at an angle, have to look into the menu see if I can turn that off, darn another excuse to get out for a ride
