The Sound Of Music. !!
8 years 11 months ago - 8 years 11 months ago
One of my sons made this video of me on one of my old Z1300's.
He was on the bridge over the road. The bike is the one in my Avatar Photo just to the left here and as seen on the front page of this great website (1979 Z1300A1) UK Spec.
It does not look like it but I was hitting just under 100mph soon after the bridge........and it wasnt even on "full song" yet !
Turn the volume up full before clicking on the link below and just listen to the best sounding bike ever made !!
If this sound does not make you feel good............then there is something wrong with you !
Sounds like a 1960's Ferrari ?
Enjoy.

Pete, love the sound of your Z13 - :woohoo: :woohoo:
Certain bike engine configurations sound just so right: Six's, large capacity 2 stroke triples and V4 4 strokes can provide aural satisfaction: I have a Z900 and it sounds like a mark 1 VW Beetle  .
A couple of years ago I owned a V4 Aprilia - still think with a race pipe the sound takes some beating: have a listen to the last 20 seconds of this youtube clip - reminds me of the old TT clips of the 60's (sadly its not my bike) - but sound the same
Cheers Tim

Damn Pete, this sounds just like it should !!!
I was a bit worried when the Video started about you driving on the wrong side of the road (all Aussie will disagree now), however I realized where u come from. That all faded out quickly when acoustics took over.
I Need to see if I can download the Sound, just as an Appetizer for the moment spring will come again ...
THANKS
Holger

I got a 1999 Yamaha Vmax (VMX1200) now with Laser Pipes and K&N Filter system.
It REALLY does sound nice, especially at 6000 rpm when the V-Boost (extra 48 BHP) kicks in.............but I have to say the 1300 is far, far nicer to hear.
The only other bike that has ever came close was my 1979 CBX1000Z many years ago with a Piper 6 into 1 exhaust..........lovely noise, but the 1300 still wins !

nice one Pete but the Laser cans are far to quiet. you should try the Delkevic cans, they are just as loud as the Doma race system
i can set the car alarms off with mine :woohoo:
