I'll believe that when I see a set of straight pipes aimed forward.
Loud pipes are a pain in the ass.

...The debate on "loud pipes, save lives" is never ending ! I find them annoying and so unnecessary ! They make the general public hate THOSE people that ride
I have a large collection of bikes in the stable, (all quiet) but my son and his buddy's have my neighbors ready to have ME run out of town on a rail cause of their loud pipes "the problem originates from his(my) house"... not really liking that, so I put a harsh stop to it ,and all is well for now in the neighborhood ! ...The riding season is almost over here, and things will calm down over the snow months....Tony

Loud pipes are virtually outlawed here in the UK: that (and illegal sized number plates) is one of the first things the Police look for on the frequent motorcycle "safety checks" that happen to bikers up and down our Grim & Peasant land !
If your pipes are not stamped with the correct EU homologation / noise test approval mark: then its an "on the spot fine" of @ £100 - $150
On the up-side, the noise regulations do not apply to vehicles manufactured before 1982, so you can run a classic bike with a fruity pipe without fear of prosecution - often wondered what my Zed 13 would sound like with a 6 into 1.
