When did the Voyager 1300 go to EFI?
8 years 6 months ago
There's a Voyager 1300 for sale a few hours from me for a reasonable enough price, and I'm halfway considering picking it up as a donor bike. That said, it's an '85 model and is apparently equipped with carburetors.
When did the Voyager go EFI? I'd be much more attracted to the bike for fuel injection but the seller replied to an e-mail and said, nope, it's carbureted.

I think EFI came out in 1984. But there would most likely still be carb models available after that.

Ah, got it.
It's a pretty bastardized bike with a strange two-front-wheel trike conversion, but it does have some spares. The guy's asking $800.
I could use the spares, but A) I'm not sure where I'd store it; carburetors are less valuable to me than the EFI system; and C) it's a five-hour round trip to pick up the bike, and I'd need to borrow a trailer.

Easy, go see the bike, offer the guy $500, settle for $625, bring it home and list the parts you don't want on fleabay.
What's not to like? It's a win win deal.

Hey Brandon
the Voyager never went to EFI, they always were equipped with carburettors.

I thought the 1300 Voyager only ever came with injection. I had an 83 model 30yrs ago.I found it as suitable for British roads as a Cadillac Eldorado, had one of them too
