Then I checked the manufacturing date and it was made in 2013. What makes it worse is I had already read this thread some months ago, I just thought I would have been in the clear and K & N would have pulled them from the shelves. I have sent an email off to there tech support to see if I can sort it out. #@%*(#% :pinch:
They were really good to me. didn't ask for the old one back. Only needed to give them the ups number on the box. I also sent them pics of the filter showing the measurements with a tape measure. Good luck Yaegunp. I'm sure they'll make it right for you.

The Z1300 I just bought has a K&N filter which is quite old and wont be getting used but it fits perfectly. I am now wondering how they stuffed up when the older filters did fit.

Does the old filter have metal ends? The original design had metal ends and fit perfectly. I assumed when K&N switched to plastic ends on the filter, someone dropped the ball.

Yeah it has got metal ends. So it must have been at that change over that the Fup was made.
However I wont use K&N filters as discussed previously.

The one I am trying to replace had no ends at all. I was surprised when the new one turned up with a plastic end on it
