I'm glad you pulled the pan and had a look around. It paid off in this case. Peace of mind - Priceless!!

That's a slick rig.

Brandon, what information did your kit come with? Was there any specs or paperwork at all?

There were no specs included, and no paperwork. I let my machinist do the research on fitment, and he came back with a solution. If you'd like I can call him and see if he has those numbers.

The rings I gapped at .01", if I remember correctly. That's .0035" per inch of bore. I could be off on this, but I likely have it written in my shop logs for this bike. It was a tedious process as I had to fit two pistons inside each sleeve to hold the ring square to the bore as I checked gap, but, well, that's how it goes.
Cut to approximate, smash to fit!

I would be eternally grateful. It appears we likely have the same kits. White boxes, 6 in a row taped together? Nothing on the box but z1300 64mm?

Yep, that's the one -- just the standard 1370 kit off eBay. .01" is almost certainly the gap I used.

For procedural reference, I set the block on my bench with the sleeve skirt up. I then dropped a piston in the bore and another one on top of it with the skirt facing towards me so I could set the ring square to the bore and measure gap.

I'll call my machinist and see if he has notes on what the specs were on the holes. I know it was difficult to find someone who could or would do the job locally, though.
