RE: my tank sealer. Have come to the conclusion that my sealer was not the issue. No explanation as to what was gumming-up the idle jets but will keep ya'll informed if the issue continues.

Got the old carbs off and prepping to install new ones after tank sealer has set. I have a question about the gizmo that is between the fuel tank and the carbs, located under the airbox. What is it and what does it do?

If I am right this is the magnetic fuel valve. Once you turn the ignition to on it will release the flow of fuel to the carbs. A lot of people took it out, I have (had) it connected to one of the switched I did not need, so I can cut the close to hoem in order to empty the carbs a bit.

Looks a bit like the fuel solenoid but it's hanging a bit lower than what I'm used to. Having said that, mine being a sidecar, what I am used to may be a lot different than anyone else - I have a secondary fuel tank that also has a fuel hose going to the solenoid.

got a lot sorted, but I can't find the gasket for the fuel tank level sending unit. I searched and can't find one available.
Any ideas on locating one?
