You don't see many , if any of the grey or pearl white full faring CBX's anymore. I haven't seen one on the road in the last 10 years. I'm surprised they don't pull more money than the naked CBX's on that reason alone.
Nice looking bike and well kept. Congrats !!
Oh, and I never saw anything close to 40 miles per gallon and being Canadian, our gallon was 20% larger thna the US gallon. I was closer to 25 MPG most of the time.

One of the world’s most beautiful motorcycles, in my opinion.

MY FIRST XPERIENCE WITH A SIX...

It was in the mid-'90s, I was driving my fourth motorcycle I owned, a Laverda OR 600 ATLAS, trail type, a guy owed me money and offered to settle part of the debt with two motorcycles that he had abandoned years ago in a barn. .
When I went to see the motorcycles I couldn't believe it...
A Montesa Impala 175 from '66 (which I still have) and a gray BENELLI 750 SEI from '77, complete but not running, I loaded them into my van and took them home.
The Impala immediately worked, it's the simplicity that 2-stroke engines have.
As for the Benelli, as I moved in groups with Italian motorcycles, they recommended a mechanic of Italian origin who had run a Benelli dealership in northern Italy, and now lived with his family near Barcelona.
I took the motorcycle to him and saw a complete workshop in his garage, with all the specific tools of the brand, in a couple of months he brought the six-cylinder back to life, left it like new, it started with a simple kick or at the touch of a button, Its sound was spectacular.
The repair cost was quite high and I made a deal, I gave him the Laverda in exchange for the work, it was like changing a motorcycle.
I had it for 5 years, it was the first motorcycle with which I reached 200km/h with the tachometer needle in the red zone, I made trips alone or with my wife, according to her she has not ridden a more comfortable motorcycle.
But not everything was pretty, the bike leaked oil through several seals, the plastics were of poor quality, it had to be carbureted very often and it was not like today, there was hardly any internet or sellers of used parts, I ended up selling it to a collector who He paid it very well and I was able to buy a BMW R1200 CRUISER that I still own.
If I regret having sold the motorcycle? Not at all, I took advantage of those years, always fearing having a fall and being left without a motorcycle as there was no stock of spare parts.
They are now highly sought-after motorcycles but the Italian ones are not suitable for daily riding like a Japanese one of its time.

BENELLI 750 SEI 1977 IN MY MEMORY.

MONTESA IMPALA 175 T 1966 IN MY GARAGE.

The CBX is beautiful, as is the Benelli. Much finer in their appearance than the Kawa.
I do prefer the juggernaut though ..
