Changing brake lines over to SS lines (want some advice please) was created by stocktoy
I'm putting an 06 Goldwing back together and changing the brake lines over to Stainless Steel lines.So my question is what can I use to hold this brass olive ( Galfer company part name) in place as the lines are under the frame crossover and above the swingarm. they are such a pain to hook up I'd like some thoughts on ways to keep them in place until I've got the line started that won't contaminate the brake fld or will flush out when i bleed the brakes.

Normally the "brass Olive" compression ferrulre fits over a piece of brake tubing and then when the joint is first assembled, the compression ferrule gets swaged onto the tubing sealing the tube to the ferrule and sealing the ferrule to the mated fitting.

Looking at your pic, I see the flared end of the brake line and I can't see the inside of the stainless line fitting, so I'm not sure exactly how the "brass Olive" is sealing the two lines together. I've never seen a compression ferrule used in conjunction with a flared tube. Doesn't make sense to me.
Scotch has outfitted his bike with stainless lines. Hopefully he can chime in here.
A pic of the stainless line sealing end might help.

Can't help. I bought my s/s line in bulk, modified the compression fitting and the OEM Banjo bolt too facilitate being "Silver-brazed" and took the lines too the hyd.-shop too have the fittings compressed.

I never thought to include the inside of the Galfer line it's a concave depression that the brass olive sits in.

Do they offer a connector fitting to marry a flared line to their stainless lines?. I just can't imagine a setup using a compression ferrule in this joint. It needs support in the ID of the ferrule if nothing else than to keep the ferrule from rotating and blocking the flow. Something's really off here.
