Hi everyone,

Got a mechanical seal and oil sesl for my A4 1300. Have got the pump cover off and am now trying to get the impeller off the shaft. Doesn't seem to want to budge.
Any suggestions.
Thanks.

once the circlip has been removed there is only an 'O' ring between the shaft and the impeller.

I think some sort of corrosion occurs between the steel and aluminium which can make them very hard to get off and there isn't room to get any kind of puller behind the impeller.

Once you get the impeller of there are two bolts to remove from the mechanical seal. I think there are then two threaded holes where you can carefully use bolts to separate it from the block

As ever, zed-thirteen is bang on the money !!

Nothing to add really other than BE CAREFUL how you treat the impeller shaft, as the other end has a METAL driven gear on it...........that is DRIVEN by a Nylon Gear that is not the best design or strongest component inside a 1300 motor !!

Treat it like a lady............!
