..and I should have listened. Sent two sets off to a 'pro' with less than desirable results.
  1. First set came back with no bench sync. Got to learn how, the hard way.
  2. Both carbs came back with pilot adjustment all over the place, minimum .5 turns, max over 4 turns
  3. One carb had LHS middle carb pilot jet 'jammed', with boogered threads AND a poorly installed help-coil
  4. Which led to a bent pilot jet 'tip'
  5. One carb came back with all 3 fuel inlet needle-seat clips fastened UNDER the retainer, preventing any fuel from entering bowl
  6. One carb had excessively high fuel level
  7. Carbs sprayed with lacquer which dissolves under gasoline exposure
Not sure what's going on with the 'pro', but from my perspective, well, you know...

As a comparison, the work done by Jack Wagner at Old School Carbs on my 81 CBX was phenomenal. Bench sync'd very close to perfection, all linkages nice and smooth no binding, simply install, go, do a quick dynamic sync and it's all good.

That’s disgraceful.  May I ask how much you paid that ham-fisted cretin to butcher your carburettors?  Have you asked him for an explanation?   It would be most interesting to hear what he has to say, when shown the evidence of his botched work. Request - DEMAND- a refund, or take him to court.

I just don't have it in me. I actually like the guy as a human, now, not so much his work. I'm thinking something is going on leading to the poor work.
