hi ,
wondering if anyone can shed any light on what ive just found in the sump pan ,
the bike has been stood for many yrs as you can tell by the sludge, nothing gritty in there my magnet came out clean ,unfortunately there was a 20mm hose clip in there which im sure isn't supposed to be and looks like it should be something external to the engine ,

any ideas guys ?

It almost looks like part of the clean-air emissions system from the top of the engine. Either that, or the small breather hose on the lower-left side of the crankcase, by the airbox.

Either way- definitely not something that's supposed to be INSIDE the engine.....

I agree it doesn't look like an internal part, cant understand how a hose clip got its self in there

Whoever checked the shims last dropped it in and thought "Oh shit, I'll put the top back on and hope I get away with it"....And they did! I'll bet he replaced the clip and you won't find one missing .

It looks very much to me like the clip that holds in place the 'L' shaped crankcase breather hose that goes between the crankcase & airbox. I like Charlie's explanation lol.

Looks like the clamp that holds the air switching valve hoses. There are 6 of those clips 92037-213
