Valid point there Trikebldr and a great point to make. I think he's ok here because of the great pictures I can see a very light crosshatching going across the area where the ridge is (was) so I'm fairly confident that the witness mark from the previous ridge (the grey band) would have probably disappeared if the machinist had gone another .002"- .0003" . The hone was just starting to lick it off when he stopped. I can't believe he just didn't go that extra couple of tenths.

I just had my cylinders bored and honed. They don't look anything like that. I'll post pics as soon as I get it back from the mechanic this weekend.

On another note I might have a brand new big bore kit, barrels and machined head to sell lol
