Another new guy here from Lubbock, Texas. First off thanks for the add. I've been creeping around on this site for a few weeks and finally decided to join up! I've always had a soft spot for the old kz bikes. My father gave me his kz400 from his college days when when he picked up his kz1000 (retired police bike) and I've pretty much been hooked since then. Recently just picked up an 81 kz1300 for free!!! I'm now in the process of getting it going and will be sharing as I go along. There is lots of good info and nice bikes on this site so I figured I was a good place join!

Hi there from one of the Canadian reps. Welcome aboard. Lots of good info on this site including electronic service manuals on the home page. Also check out the Buildblog tab. If you need to do your carbs, there's a great write up by Scotch.
Another great resource is the one called Dave's article. it's a searchable doc with info on all kinds of issues and what members have done to overcome them.

And just because you deserve this, I'm giving you your first "Thankyou" for actually filling out your profile AND giving us a pic of your ride. I'm impressed!! Usually we have to ask for these, but you've got it right, right out of the starter blocks.

Good luck with your project and if you get stumped just give us a shout out. We're here for you.

Kayboy

greetings and salutations
im new to the six cyl club ,but have owned many Kawasaki fours in the past ,I have just bought a 1980 A2 which was deliverd today ,it was bought in an auction and I was assured that the motor had been started and run , bit of a lie to say the least as the slides are stuck in the carbs and all 3 coils are cracked open like nuts hence no sparks ,
I was aware from the pictures supplied that a few parts were missing (left side panel ) (airbox to carb rubbers and airbox lid ) indicators ,and a few other bits and pieces , ive decided to restore it as near as possible to original so im gonna need a lot of advice and help with things ,and mainly pointed in the right direction to source parts ,

many thanks in advance !!!!! think I better buy a manual to start with lol are they easily found ?
il try and do a picture log as I go once I find my way around the site

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I've got a lot of work done already but I'll spare you the details and just go start myself a build thread.
