Hi Guys, I’m looking for some advice. I started the big Z up after the long winter lay up. It starts and runs with the choke about half way on, but it won’t rev, open the throttle and it just cuts out. When it warms up it also cuts out and won’t run till its cold again. I put fresh fuel in it so I have eliminated the stale fuel issue. It was running fine before I laid it up for the winter, any advice greatly appreciated. :(

Does your fuel have alcohol in it? Were the carbs run dry before you put it up?

Tyr these measures below ONE AT A TIME so you know what solved the issue.

Remove plugs, claen and gap them.
Set the gap a little smaller then the manual states as the standard coils are very weak.

Try it .

Next remove air filter.

Try it.

Let us know how you get on from here

You could try removing the drain screws then squirting carb cleaner in to the bowls to dissolve the gum left by the old fuel then flush out bowls with fresh fuel then try and restart failing that it could be carbs out and cleaned time
