After the first mod to the center-stand allowing it to be re-installed and used with a DG Header I just finished a 2nd simple modification which makes getting the 1300 up on the center-stand MUCH EASIER !!! Even on a good day with some decent shoes or boots, my 6'/184 lbs felt like the treadle-plate was going to come through my foot.
I removed the stand and cut-out 11/16" from the left and right leg - from between the two parallel braces. Then: welded it back together. In other words: the center-stand has been shortened. When the C/S is retracted the tread-plate for your boot now rests directly on the adjustable spreader-bar. ( I found it necessary to remove the rubber stop, shown in my previous article). The back wheel is still off the ground by about 2" and I can now put the bike up on the center-stand wearing a pair of those "cheap sandals" ! (Not that I ride with them but rather to prove my work.)
The ease of deploying the C./S. is significant.
