Hi Guys,
I took the lady out of her slumber and she, after getting fuel started fine. I though noticed at a crossing that she, even with neutral in, does not roll anymore any noticed the rear-brake blocking. The disc hot, so I paused and made it home. With help from a friend we dismounted the rear-master cylinder and noticed the piston was stuck. We have been able to get him moving again, yet the brake shows the identical symptoms, after around 1 mile the disc is hot. Compare to the front-discs too hot I guess.

What would be your approach ?

Thanks and best regards,
Holger

The equalizing port (smaller of the two holes) in your master cylinder is blocked and preventing brake fluid from flowing back into the reservoir when you release the brakes. Use a small wire or toothpick to clear the blockage and flush the fluid.

Hey Bucko, thanks. When we dismounted the master-cylinder, we did check if that hole is clean since that was the first idea. It was clean indeed, and at the same time I was able to press one of the pistons back into the caliper. I just ordered myself the below item to see if that will solve it:

Keep your fingers crossed ...

I had the same rear brake problem a number of years ago - however, it was my fault as I adjusted the pedal stop to reduce the free play.  Not logical for this to happen if you had no problems last time you ran your 1300 but worth checking?

Will check that, though I did not change anything in there.

I agree - I've done this too.  Noticed an orange glowing rear disk when passing a motorcycle shop window
