I guess it's time to let this one go....

Here's a great fixer upper!

I have had this bike for the last 18 years. I wanted to get it running and take it on an epic adventure to Alaska. Well I guess if I was going to do that, I would have done it by now. I have done almost no work to it in all these years so it is mainly how I got it in 1996.

The Bad.

I removed the front brake calipers so the bike could roll easier. The pads had swollen. The rear pads have been removed from the rear caliper for the same reason. I'm sure you will want to rebuild the brake system and add new pads but I have all the hardware.

The windscreen has a crack half way across it.

The tank doesn't have enough rust to justify being lined.

The kick stand is broken off. Perhaps the electrolyte tube drained on it. I have never seen it happen to a bike but I've got the broken off kickstand.

Airboxes removed.

Carbs disconnected but not disassembled.

Needs tires of course.

Front seat needs recover.

One side cover has a crack.

Left grip missing.

Lower front fairing missing.

One rear view mirror is missing.

The pictures kind of explain it. You are going to have to do some work here.

The Good:

Motor was free and had spark last year. I have not put a battery in it since. I have the key but no title. Most of all the parts seem to be there.

I do have some new stuff to go with it. I really was planning on rebuilding this bike. Too many other bikes have gotten in the way and I think my days of riding across the country on one of these things are behind me. This site led me to get the following to fix it up.

3 Nology Profire coils

6 new NGK plugs

3 Carb rebuild kits

An airfilter

Manual cam chain adjuster is already installed

Kawasaki shop manaual

There are also a couple of ignition boxes pictured that I found in the luggage boxes. No idea if they are good or bad. But there are a lot of new parts here to get your restorations started right. I did not want to part this bike out even though that is a good way to make money on them. It is a great candidate for restoration and I hate to see good bikes taken out of circulation like that.

I am in Atlanta, GA if you want to come see it. If you would like more info you can write me here or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you are going to need shipping I will need you to talk me thru how that needs to be done. I will do what I can on this end to help.

We all know what these restorable candidates are worth. With the parts that come with it I think it will make someone a good deal.
