I've got a 1980 KZ1300 I'm doing my best to get back to stock condition, and that means at some point I'm going to have to do something about the seat. Right now it's got the touring option from 1980- sort of a dual-bucket thing going on. The seat pan is solid, though, and I plan on taking it to a local upholsterer to get it re-shaped inline with what the stock setup was.

However, so the people doing it know what a stock KZ1300 seat LOOKS like, I was hoping I could get a few clear photos of one in good shape. Definitely from the top and directly from the side (to get the contour) along with multiple other angles, so the general shape and COMPLETE stitch pattern is clear to someone who has never seen an actual seat.

Thanks in advance.

Guys, you kept inn mind that there a tow different seats, one has the seam on the back in the top middle and one with the kawasaki brand oat that speific place.

The one Bill has shown is the one for the A1 to ?, the DFI had a different one (here I am guessing)

Hi Holger,

Yes I'm not sure how many years that seat was used.

Here's a close up of the tag on the bottom side of the seat pictured above.

And here's a picture of the seat on my 1981 KZ1300 A3.

From what I've seen that looks like the early one (which is what I'm looking for). Thanks for those.

They sell replacement seat covers for like 70 bucks, but there's a Kawasaki logo on the back (which the A2s didn't have, I'm pretty sure), and I would need to re-shape foam anyway. A local upholsterer can probably get me a new seat cover AND padding for less than that, with no work done by myself.

Thanks again!

Could anyone tell me if the seat pictured above is the same as 82 A4 model?
