well, I got in the zone and buttoned her back up again. What a PITA are the coils to reconnect and attach! Once those were back on the rest was a breeze. I took the opportunity to repaint the cover and the top/back of the engine, looking better now. I used that too often as a place to put a tool and it was looking shabby.

The carbs and air filter on, and she started right up. MUCH more responsive now (or is that my imagination?). But I got in trouble with the neighbours because it had gone 23:45 by then and the exhaust is still.... not quite right - time flies when you are having fun...!

But I am happy and relieved now that I know that the chain WAS the issue, and that it has been solved.

Paul,

It unfortunate you have neighbours just like mine.............who dont appreciate the superb sound of a 6 cylinder Kawasaki at anytime of the day !

Some people just have no taste !

Well done mate
