It would be really awesome if one of you Gents out there who has an engine in pieces could do me a favor and measure the connecting rod length center to center please?
Thanks,

Do you need it to be very precise?

A quick one with a caliper shows 120 mm (center to center)

How about inside of the wrist pin end to inside of the big end and then we can add 1/2 of the wristpin (which I think is 15mm) so 7.5mm and half of the big end.(which is ???)
Thanks for your help Stan.

Sure. Of course bushing shells removed.

Outside distance 147.35 mm, inside 94.05. Short arm diameter 14.8 mm, big end diameter 38.75. Just in case the wrist pin 15 mm.
For the record, my crankshaft main bearings show 40 mm. Of course the calipers (not digital) will not indicate below 0.01 mm, so accordingly these measurements are as close as I can read them on a manual caliper, and that's for one random connecting rod. (Still hunting for a 1" - 2" micrometer on eBay!)

It adds up to 120.7 mm. Pretty close to 120! I hear 'you have a good eye Stan!' hahaha

One other little update - I tightened the bolt and nut by hand, not to the required by manual torque. That would take off the measurements as well. I'd safely assume that it is actually 120 mm. It's also a nice round number. Just like with the pins at 15 mm, I'd think a designer would choose this rather than fiddling with tenths or hundreds of a millimeter.

Thanks for doing this. I need the measurement for camshaft calculations and down the road it's a good number to have available on the website.
Greatly appreciated Stan,

No worries KB, you're welcome.
Sometime down the road I will need to balance the rods, pistons, and ideally all together with the shaft, so we can expand on the rods theme later. I will definitely need some feedback, the info web offers is not consistent as to the diy method.
