Working on my KZ1300 barn find and I finally got to the point of installing the Nology coils I ordered. I tossed the stock ones along with the ballast resistor as recommended by the faq page.I now see the green, blue and black wire and I know which coils those wires go to but what's up with the yellow wire? Is it used or that was part of the the stock set up only? Also I'm assuming the wires coming out of the harness are positive so can I just ground the coils to a common ground or a specific wire? And finally my last question the mounting of the coils. I tried mounting these coils with some brackets I made using some scrap aluminum but that area where the stock coils were tight and my big hands don't help either and was spending hours trying to get them mounted I finally gave up and considered using tie wraps. Is that okay to do?Thanks

You need to split the YELLOW wire into 3 wires & put a spade connector on the end of each (one for each coil).
Dont just ground them to the frame (only Black wires with Yellow tracers).
Its best to fix each coil to the frame securely & not to cable tie them.

Pete one more question about the wiring. So the wires that will be coming out of the yellow one need to be attached to the the negative lead on the coil? Sorry for being such a noob.

Yes, attach the 3 Yellows to each negative pole on each coil
