Hi, I need help with my Z. When trying to start the engine the yellow/blakc wire from the IC igniter starts to burn. Double checked every connection, nothing.. Renew the wire from the battery also.. Igniter dead? Should it be grounded seperately somehow? The frame was repainted..
Turn signals dead too.

Hello Perucho:

You'll need to take a volt/ohm meter and start looking for a dead short somewhere, either in the main harness, a sub harness, or component.

Start with the wiring first, then use the shop manual to verify the pick-up coils, igniter, and ignition coils.

Make sure you do this with the wiring diagram out of the shop manual

Are you blowing fuses?

Regards.

Todd.

On another note, are you sure your side cover switch is in the ON position?

To be on, it must be in the horizontal position.
