what is the preferred battery to use on the 1300, I haven't had much luck with autozone replacements only last six to eight months before sulfating.
Is there a better option available? Thanks Greg

Having owned my '80- 1300 from new I have also gone through a lot of batteries - until I updated the charging system with a MOSPHET V/R. Installed a new Stator at the same time. Battery now gets charged correctly and have had no problems, since. In the winter I occasionally use a battery tender to keep it topped-up.

Motobatt in both my bikes, still going strong after 7 years. Battery tender when laid up for any longer than a month. Be careful to buy from a reputable source as there were some counterfeit Motobatt batteries, pretty sure that's where some of the bad reviews come from online. And as Scotch said, a Mosfet V/R.
