Hi .. I have just replaced the battery in My 1984 Voyager 1300. It was not charged when i installed it however i though i would boost . This bike always starts hard on the first COLD start. I figured a new Battery would not hurt . I cranked it over with no chance of it starting. Now the DFI is giving me an Error code (TWO LONG lights and THREE short Lights) it will not roll over at all. I just here the fuel pump start. I check fuses and cant see anything bad. I shorted the relay and it will not roll over .

I have copied the error codes from the Z1300 service manual. The whole manual is available on the Home page of this site.

Good luck.

I had the same error message on my DFI , I sorted this problem by splitting the 6 pin connector block coming from the pick up coils and via email the connector block a good spraying with electrical contact cleaner, put them back together a few times then gave them another good dose of the cleaner also did the same with the DFI control box,
