Do you plan on leaving the 'clean air system' off?  I'm thinking of removing mine the next time I have the tank off.

Not sure I haven’t decided yet. I’ll
probably just cap them.  Pros/cons?

From what I read, there too much potential for vacuum leaks.  In my case, the hoses are original and may certainly leak, but I don't feel like paying to replace them all.  Many say that their bikes run better without, so I will remove it but keep the components.  It's also inconvenient working around it.

Curiously, my son's 2006 Ninja has the exact same system.  You would think the technology would have changed over the years which leads me to believe that it doesn't work and is there to put on a show for the US EPA.

Air injection into the exhaust system has been around since the early '70s. Use to add oxygen in to the exhaust system to promote afterburning of unburnt hydrocarbons. It doesn't rob any power and can only help the cleaning of the emissions. The only "complaint" was popping back sounds in the exhaust under deceleration. Some like to remove it thinking as an emission system, that it robs power and eliminating it is for the better. Do what you please.
