OK,
Seafoam is quite new to us over here in the trashcan stinking dump of Europe (currently known as the UK), but you guys in the US of A and Canada have had it for many years...........
Depending on which website I read reviews on (as many are clearly sponsored) it looks to be a pretty effective petrol based treatment which is quite highly rated by most who have used it.

My question is...........has anyone on this site actually used it on CARB model bikes (KZ1300 or other) to a good result ?

Please..........just to save any wasted time and words, I am really not interested in opinions, just first hand experience of useage...........good, bad or indifferent, so if you have not actually used it, please dont reply, as it mans nothing without personal experience.

Thanks

Thanks for interesting replies and Stan's interesting comparison !

We have not been able to get Seafoam in the Uk until recently so I have ordered some now an will be using it soon on the 1300 carbs.
I have also seen Marvel Mystery Oil used on many USA TV Series (CCC Wayne Carini etc) and it seems to be very well thought of too..........and only recently it has become available on Ebay UK, so intend to give that a try too in the near future.

I have tended to stay clear of "wonder fluids" and all their claims and promises in the past until I tried BG44K some years ago in a Vmax V4 1200 with a hesitation on idle...........and after using it for a few miles it really did fix it 100%.......so maybe there are additives / fluids out there that do have a real purpose and help with blockages and general internal carb condition ?

Thanks again

You won’t need any of those snake oils, Pete, once you’ve used Scotch’s wondrous flushing tool! And replace the idle jets. Run it on Shell Optimax too.

I had a float on my GL1000 that wanted to stick after winter storage. Sometimes it would be fine, sometimes it would hang.

Figured I'd try the low buck fix before yanking the carbs off. Dumped most of a can of Seafoam into the tank, ran it around about 50 miles, and haven't had a problem with the sticky float since.

It's not a substitute for an ultrasonic cleaner, but it's worth trying for minor issues.
