I really enjoyed this short movie. Very nostalgic. Great bike sound! And the SIX was coming just a few years later :) Music kind of sounds like 70's porn background when those guys ride, but I wouldn't challenge that as not fitting! It's just a background ;)

Something that boggled my mind - listen from 20:50. I couldn't catch the full name except his first - Brian. They said he clocked over 100 thousand miles ride testing Z1 prototypes. Holy shit, is all I can say! It shows how much went into designing such bikes. AT least in the 60's and 70's, without all the current 2020 computer simulations and technology. In many ways, I respect the people from those times much more. It took more ingenuity and guts. Took way much more until being offended! haha I don't think they apologized much unless truly needed, and I respect them for that.

Brian Farnsworth, Kawasaki's USA test rider.

I love the fairing on the speed record bike - and the sound! Awesome!

Yes, I didn't mention it but the sound is astonishing. And it's only 4 cylinders. In a distant future, I'd like to have one air cooled in-line engine. I think CBX or one of these early Zt's would be great.

Thanks for sharing this movie with us...........a great find !

To think I was only 9 years old when the Z1 was launched, but I do still remember the first ones I saw on the road in the UK.
There was an Amusement Arcade on the Sea Front where I lived in Sunderland UK, where Bikers met and played pool.
All their bikes were British Stuff...........then this Z1 pulled up and simply stole the show.........even though many of them didn't like it, they could not ignore its presence and superb sound.
A fond childhood memory and massive inspiration for me that I will never forget !
A few years later the 1300 was launched..........and stole the show again, and in my opinion is yet to be surpassed.
