Yes, those Honda pics were doing the rounds in the UK bike press - I think if they made a "new" CBX it would sell well, loads of interest in retro bikes here, but I guess the UK is a very small market to the big Jap manufacturers.

Ive got a 2016 Honda F6C, (awesome bike to ride on the right occasion), and saw that Honda were officially launching a 2019 version using the new Gold Wing engine and styled on the earlier Rune, but there was no mention of a Retro Sport 6 in the pipeline.

You mention the Rune. It was well done in my eyes for a factory custom, but really expensive , but was no doubt necessary in view of its limited numbers. And the new " CBX " , if it gets built will fit in the same mold. Maybe special order like the V -Max , RC213 V and so on. Only for the well heeled.
Remember a few years ago the "LOTUS " bike with its KTM super bike engine. There is a demand for the unique and different.. It makes life interesting, even if I never see one
