Meant to put this in the Daily Chatter section

After 4 - 5 months of trying to get my Zed running OK, I've thrown the towel in and put her on a trailer to endure the ride of shame. !
Ive been so frustrated with my bike, just got her looking how I wanted her to look

and have now missed the Summer due to one issue after another, after another, final straw came when I could not get the carbs balanced, I am no expert but have set up enough bikes (also own a CBX 1000 and a Vmax, and have recently set both up with no issue) - but with the big Zed, no matter what I did she was not having any of it.

Carbs fully rebult with new wallet hurting genuine Mikuni parts, timing spot on, compression on all six cylder at >170psi (that was a pleasant surprise), inlet rubbers are mint, coils are fine, etc etc - I was recently reminded buy a mate of the Albert Einstein quote "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Thats you that is !

Only thing I have not checked is if the carb body had a hairline crack in it ? Has anyone come across this before ?

I dont like to give up on the old bikes but she's now in a better place being sorted.
Really missed not having my Z13 to ride :(
Cheers Tim

Tim,

I feel your pain and have been in the same position with 1300's and other bikes myself.

Could you please just briefly remind me of exactly what the problem is with the bike, and lets try to go from there.

Your bike looks great and it would be a shame to give up on it.

I feel your pain as well Tim, and find myself in a similar position as you. At least you have other bikes to play with.

I might have posted this before, but when I was first setting my 1300 up I had problems with it cutting out. After much searching it turned out to be bad connections in the multi plugs located under the right hand side cover. I cleaned them thoroughly and the issue was fixed. I read somewhere that someone cut out the multi plugs and just soldered the wires together. After-all, how often will you be disconnecting them.
