Hello:
I have a recently acquired kz1300. I have a couple questions for those with knowledge of this. I have no paperwork with the bike. My assumption is it's a 1979 based on the color of tank and panels(blue/green) and it seems to be original. The frame date says 8/79, however the frame number and engine number suggest it's an 1980. I am unsure of the sump size but I may just drain it and fill it and that will tell me the sump capacity. Any help would be appreciated.

Doug, most of the 79 & 80 models came with the small oil pan, identified by the position of the drain plug- the small pan with 5.3 litres of oil has the plug facing forward, the larger pan has the plug facing down.
