I recall Graeme Crosby (aka Croz) riding a Z13 at Bathurst in 1979 and saying that once he wore the mufflers out he could lean it further and that they were just in the way.
I was fairly pissed off because I had ordered and paid for my bike and these riders were getting new bikes for each meeting and Kawasaki would not give me what I had already paid for.

Holger this is the ride you refer to
Ross Atkin, September 1982. Kawasaki 1300cc. 15000 Kilometres. 6 days 22 hours 51 minutes.
He went from Melbourne on Highway 1 which goes right round Australia. I do have a newspaper clipping from the day but at the moment I cant get to a lot of my Kawasaki stuff so I am unable to give you more info.
The record stood for about 5 years and was beaten by Rich Willey and Gary Van Straten, October 1987. Kawasaki 1100cc. 15508 Kilometres. 6 days 17 hours 6 minutes.
If and when I find the clipping I will copy it and post it here but I don't think it has much more info than what I have already put up here.
