Finaly got the dfi testing manual.yay.ill go thru all the tests.but i got a problem with the computer grounding....sparks.is that normal.it sparks when grounding on metal ground.

If it sparks then theres a short inside somewhere, do all the checks before putting power to it, although it might be to late.

just remember on these bikes (79 kz1300 anyway) the ground wires are usually black with a yellow stripe down the lenght
if you put this wire to power it will spark and possibly smoke the wire and or componemt being tested found this out by mistake many years ago luckly I only touched the wire to power (North american grounds areusually either solid black or solid white depending on what you're working on.

you get this free with every short.

Hai.i did all the test and they all worked .i noticed i didnt have the red/white power wire hooked up.now the case was grounding when i hooked it up.i didnt do the test for injector obviously with the power disconected.is there anything else i can check or is this the end of the line...new computer.is there anyone that can fix?...my brain hurts now.any help would be very helpful.

with the computer disconnected find the live pin ( No 4 from the diagram ) and test for a short to the case.
if it is clear as you say then the fault could be with the wiring loom and not the ECU

just checked mine and i have NO continuity between the case and any pin.
