Dont forget the stock headers are double walled tubing so you might get some weird readings with a temp gun.

I have been telling all Z1300 owners to buy a Colortune Plug for over 20 years now.

Its one of the best and most practical tools you can buy if you own a Z1300 (or anything with carbs) and the ONLY way yo can be 100% sure your fuel is burning at the correct ratio.

Its literally a WINDOW into your combustion chamber.

will take your advice and get a colour tune as regards the coil i am assuming it is a carb because it is cylinders 1&2 which is fed by 1 carb but i believe 2 coils feed them so less likely

Yes man! I just bought one from ebay after reading about it while researching carb problems on another forum. What an ingenious idea and they've been around for a long time!
