Hey guys,
Thought I would post some pictures of the progress I am making in my restoration of my A4 Z1300.
When I bought the bike it was in a pretty sad state of affairs, having sat in a leaking shed for about 18 years.
On the plus side it only has about 18,000km on the clock ( I think they may have been hard kms though ). I believe that this is the correct mileage when I consider the condition of the plastic cam chain idler gear and other mechanical items.
I have pretty much stripped everything off the bike. Had the frame powder coated and all the other parts ( swingarm etc ) I have cleaned up and painted.
I have replaced every bearing , nut and bolt etc ( with stainless ).
The engine I decided to leave and see what happened once I started it up. i checked the valve clearance and have serviced all the oils and filters.
I have had the carbs aqua blasted and have come up a treat. Scotch provided me with a set of his awesome brass floats. If you haven't got a set of these then I reccommend you get them, they are sensational ( sorry if this is against the rules Bill). Apart from tinkering with the final setting of the carbs up the engine sounds fine.
Paint work has not long come back, even if it is in an earlier models scheme I am happy with it.
New shocks on the rear and front shocks serviced.
Waiting on a full set of discs and a few other minor incedentals and then she should be good to go.....
