I'm having issues with the fast idle adjustment on my 1979 KZ1300 A1. When I give it a little throttle it seems to 'stick' at around 2500 rpm's.  If I manually turn the throttle down, it seems to idle ok at around 1000 rpm. But the moment I give it any throttle it seems to go back up to the 2500 rpm and sticks The fast idle adjust looks to be on the 'lobe'.ok. For giggles I unscrewed the the fast idle 'lobe' back away from its normal position and slid it all the way over next to the choke lever. With this lobe disengaged completely, the engine idles normally without anything sticking.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here?
