Got to the carburetors. But first, my crazy corner of KZ1300 love. This is where things happen. This setup is very temporary - things are being moved around as they are being fixed!!

The carb below is the one I taken completely apart and cleaned in 101+ different ways. I used Scotch's Cleaning Tool - works great! I've done it in ultrasonic cleaner, by hand, Scotch';s Tool, then again spraying carb cleaning from cans. All in all, I am sure it would pass a check to go to a Mars mission!

I have two carburetors. I swapped a couple of screws to make one being superior ;) All is put together using old original screws but a set of all stainless bolts is coming soon. It will be easy to replace one by one.

I have 2 questions.
The LEFT one came from my 82 carb. The right one - supposed to be 79 or 80? Are they compatible? Or aftermarket? What's the difference between a solid one and a fancy one?

Same here. But a BIG difference. Mine is a solid piece. The one from the other carb has a little 'thing' in the middle that seem to have a spring inside?
Are these interchangeable?

Got another A4 cylinder block, in the quest for a perfect one. This one might just make the cut! This is the last one I am 'hording'. I can definitely make two perfect blocks and good spare parts for A1,2 and A4. I can make my one block perfect for my bike and work to perfection on the rest: cleaning, coating, sleeves and pistons. Extra gears are nothing but a bonus :)

Got a set of engine guards. Beaten up, but salvageable.

First off, you're doing some really nice work there Mister and in a one bedroom apartment to boot. Nice !!

I see in this picture, you have a cylinder block with a missing sleeve. Did you take that out?

Thank you!

Yes, one sleeve is out. I also have my original block completely stripped. It will be easy to powder or ceramic coat it any color, and have it ready for new sleeves, wherever they come from.
The block with one sleeve missing is an A2. Absolutely perfect otherwise. Original Kawasaki coating. The remaining 5 sleeves are like brand new, I had to remove the one missing because it had a crack at the base. I will have a good one pressed in, and it will make it for a very much brand new A2 cylinder block after having the sleeves deglazed. I am actually thinking about installing it on my A4 after plugging the extra holes. Otherwise they are the same. I am having a hard time to pass on the perfect surfaces both sides..
BUT! The last block is A4. It came with pistons, which look perfect, and so far everything else looks perfect! The sleeves are superb, and now I have even one more extra spare plastic gear! :) I was going to use it to salvage a sleeve for that A2 block, but seeing it in such a great condition I can't do it. So again, a bit at the crossroads, haha
I might just get back to the one I had to strip from the paint and paint it again and just install it, while preparing these spare for the future easy swap or sale.
I want to make a complete perfect piece from the cylinder block up as spare. Block, head, carburetor. It just looks like an artwork as much as a piece of machine.
It's a long term project in progress.

I can't edit the past post, so I will mention it that's my question regarding those little carburetor pieces is resolved. Silly me - both are identical and I installed those more shiny ones :)
The only thing left is adjusting the float heights. I just closed the bowls up for now so no dirt will come inside, and do the float level adjustment and any dry fine tuning later tonight. I also need to find out what's the right air/fuel mixture screw adjustment - how many turns? Right now I keep them closed all the way.
