I think you are right Holger- there is something amiss with those engine/frame numbers and the photo's- the photo's show the 1980 B2 touring model- say's so on the side covers.
It has the large Euro tank and fixed passenger seat and other pieces perculiar to that model.
As for price- well here in North America they are the least desirable of all the models and so fetch the lowest prices - there is one for sale in Edmonton AB for the last 3 years. Most new owners want to convert to standard and this model is the most difficult , mainly because of the rear fender/ pillion seat arrangement. KZT30B frame number

Lo and behold, I think I may have answers to some of this conundrum. The bike also came with a parts bike. The frame and engine numbers I put up are totally correct, but the parts bike is a B. the fairing package probably came from that bike.
Now I just have to sort through the parts in boxes to get original dress back on this bike. I know I have the blue tank, side covers, rear fender cowl, and one piece seat.
I am still left with the question about the value of the bike. When put back together with it's original body pieces does the low number increase the value?
Thanks for the input. I would have been blissfully ignorant of the mismatched elements without your kind help.

Thanks,

Charles

I probably will be looking to sell it at some point. I have some work to do on it first. I also have some title issues to finalize. I inherited the bike from a brother-in-law who passed. The family is still trying to track down the title and such. I am certainly open to offers.

Thanks,

Charles
