Just pulled mine out of my 1980 B2 and it measures up at 12mm diameter with a 1.25mm thread pitch and it's 15mm grip length.

Great info. I found this $3 screw at Pep boys auto parts after I ordered a $14 screw from the dealer.

Should work if its stainless, you need the rubber washer from your broken screw.

Awesome. It will take a week for the (plastic) drain screw to arrive.

I would have gone to a local rad repair shop to get one. Lots of automotive rads have plastic drain plug screws with the face seal and I'm sure that they wear out so to speak from people draining their rads while the rad is still warm and under pressure and that would tear up the threads.
